Location: Craiova, Romania
After a long trip with a very strong storm full of thunders, I finally arrived to the place that I would call home for the next 6 months. The first days weren’t so great, it rained so badly that my sneakers got ruined and I didn’t have the chance to discover this city. But, as soon as the sun came out, I did what every curious adventurer does when she finds herself in a new place and I explored.
First was the city centre, the architecture of the buildings truly amazed me, I never saw something similar in any other country that I had the chance to explore. The orthodox churches are completely different from the Catholics ones, their paintings are astonishing! I got a pain on my neck from looking up to the ceiling all the time at the Biserica Sfantul Gheorghe.
Later one, my new favourite place to be during the day (besides the kitchen, because I just love to eat), the Nicolau Romanescu Park. It is so big and wonderful, with so much to explore. There is a big lake where you can sail in little boats, tall trees, ice creams and other foods… Again, food! There is also the Castelul Fermecat or Charmed Castle and the Podul Suspendat or suspended bridge with a very haunted kind of look but I kind like it. There is lots of shows over there for every taste and for free, which I love. It is so great that a city supports arts!
My working colleagues/ roommates are very cool. I was very lucky for having a new family that gets along even though we are so different. We are always trying to improve our project and we want to do an amazing job with Kromatikon. Make a difference in this small but beautiful city and have fun while we are here! Also, survive because it is so hot around here…
First weeks already passed, let’s see what the rest have for me!
